Income tax is always a period of great expectations for Brazilian taxpayers. After all, who doesn't want to have some extra money in their budget? The refund period this year extends until September 30, according to the statement tax authority. A recent study by Serasa revealed interesting data on how Brazilians intend to use this value.
According to Serasa, about 57% of participants expect to receive refunds of up to R$1,000. This amount, although not large, is actually seen as an opportunity to pay the bills. About 30% of taxpayers indicated that they would use any amount they received to pay off outstanding debts, highlighting the use of this resource as a priority.

Another interesting fact is that 43% of survey respondents said they plan to use the money to organize their finances. Moreover, 21% of taxpayers were inclined to invest. These numbers show a greater awareness of managing money efficiently, even if it comes from an incidental source such as IRPF refunds.
