The Russian invasion of Ukraine began last Thursday
Player Pedrinho, from Shakhtar Donetsk and former Corinthians, has reported the drama of the Brazilian athletes and their families after Russia’s attack on Ukraine. On the verge of running out of food and water, they are quarantined in a hotel in the country’s capital, Kiev.
“Yes guys, the situation is getting more complicated. Here we are in the hotel, already running out of water, food and milk for the kids. We are in the same place, without any support or help. I ask you to do their best to promote us and get us out of this situation. We don’t want the worst, We all want to do well,” the Brazilian midfielder pleaded in a video sent to the G1 gate.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, Friday (25), that it had reserved seats on a train leaving the capital, Kiev, and that 20 Brazilians were already on their way to the border with Romania. According to Itamaraty, 500 Brazilians live in Ukraine.
However, the Brazilians at the hotel said they could not go to the train due to the elderly and children in the group.
The priority of boarding this Friday was given to women, children and the elderly. For those who were unable to board the plane, the directive was to remain at home, awaiting further instructions from the embassy.
Itamaraty also advises Brazilian citizens to maintain daily contact with diplomatic representation.
