    One A giant fish weighing more than 100 kg and possibly over 100 years old was caught in the Detroit River, In the United States, in April. The animal has returned to nature.

    The “River Monster” photo was posted by the Bureau of Fish and Wildlife Conservation in Albena, a city of about 10,000 people roughly 400 kilometers from Detroit, the capital of Michigan.

    The fish, called a “true river monster”, weighed 109 kg (240 lb), was 2 meters 28 cm (6’10 inches) long and had a circumference of about 1 meter and 20 cm (4 feet).

    “She was probably born on the Detroit River around 1920, when Detroit became the fourth largest city in America,” the organization says. “She was quickly returned to the river.”

    Lake sturgeon is a freshwater fish that lives in North America, from Hudson Bay, Canada, to the Mississippi River, which crosses the United States from north to south.

    A male sturgeon lives between 50 and 60 years, but a female can live up to 150 years, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
