Queen Meghan Markle has invited Prince Harry and the couple’s two children, Archie and Lilibet, to spend a few weeks with her until the end of the Northern Hemisphere’s summer, which lasts until September this year.

Sources told The Sun that the Sussexes were invited to meet him at Balmoral, where he travels every summer. “Staff have been told to expect a full roster of royals, including Harry, Meghan and their children Archie and Lilybet,” a source said.

Since Meghan and Harry stepped down from their duties in early 2020, Meghan and Harry have only visited the British Royal Family once, in early June during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They traveled to England with their children, Archie and Lilibet.

A source also told the Daily Mail that “the Sussexes will not be spending time with royals such as Charles and William” during the visit.

    The Queen’s Motives

According to The Sun, Queen Elizabeth II’s gesture is understood as a sign of peace for the Sussexes, following recent disagreements with the family, mainly caused by Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. It aired last year in both the US and the UK.

In this interview, Prince Harry revealed the reason he left the crown to protect his family was because his wife was constantly attacked and harassed by the British press.

    Fight in justice

Since February of this year, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, have been fighting in British justice for the right to protection paid by the United Kingdom when they eventually visit the country.

Last week, Judge Jonathan Swift granted Prince Harry “leave to seek judicial review” over a decision by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Persons (RAVEC) which removed Harry’s automatic right to protection.

With the ruling, Prince Harry’s legal action will now go to a full trial between Harry and the UK government at London’s High Court, an unprecedented situation in modern times.

Harry and Meghan lost government-provided police protection when they stepped down as senior members of the British royal family in early 2020. Harry’s lawyer said he and Meghan wanted to take their children to the UK from time to time, but he also said it was a very risky trip.

Harry argues that his American private security team has no foreign jurisdiction or access to UK intelligence, making a family trip to his country too risky.

Harry’s lawyer said the duke wanted to fund his and his family’s defense privately, but the inability of his group to have jurisdiction for more effective action outside the United States left his defense team inadequate.
