The Bahrain government has offered to vaccinate against the Covid-19 virus for F1 members (organizations, teams, drivers, etc.) who travel to the country this month for the pre-season and first race of the 2021 championship, on March 28. However, he did not accept the category directive, arguing that it would be unethical with the UK, the country that hosts the majority of the teams and staff involved.

    – Formula 1, as a UK-based organisation, has no plans to vaccinate as a mobile group before the UK health system actually launches vaccines – a category spokesperson told GP Fans.

Recently, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali announced that organizing the competition would not “jump the line” for vaccination – even in the UK – because he understands that there are other priority groups.

With five different types of vaccine in use in Bahrain, the local government has introduced a dosed Formula 1 vaccine from Pfizer. It is not yet known which vaccine will be applied to organization members, teams and pilots.

In 2020, Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton lost races after testing positive for coronavirus. Among the pilots, Pierre Gasly, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris also fell ill, but are on vacation. None of them showed severe symptoms.
