They say that each of us has a great book inside. By the same token each company has a tale to tell, perspective to share or range of business information that the right audience would find fascinating.
It’s a big old world and there are tastes and niches for just about anything. Who’s to imagine that on YouTube an instructional video on applying epoxy resin to a garage floor would inspire 25,000 views for amazinggaragefloors.com, that the ‘photo a day’ images of French student Noah Kalina would attract 12 million views or that Judith O’Reily’s ‘Wife in the North’ blog would have turned in to a best selling book. It takes all sorts.
The Internet offers us all a powerful platform from which to recount the message. The audience is surely out there and the tools exist by which to reach them. The trick though is in extracting the interest and presenting your message in a way that those who it’s targeted at find compelling and ultimately persuasive.
Using great copy is the most effective SEO (search engine optimisation) technique. It ‘s probable that you have a great deal of potentially great content that people would be more than happy to read in the form of landing Pages, SEO Copywriting, Sales Letters, Case Studies, Articles, Press Releases, Newsletters, Social Media, Social Networking and PPC (pay per click) Ads.
New product information, tips or techniques, opinions or experiences of a particular business sector, expertise you’d like to share or anything that adds value to your Internet presence. Information that can be crafted, formatted and submitted to suitable web resource.
Search engines LOVE great copy and will reward your site with strong positioning
Make your information a resource - Go into detail, work in depth and offer a professional level of information or insight. Don’t underestimate your readers, empathise with them Put yourself in their shoes and really deliver the goods. Share your knowledge. The more useful your information the more often they’ll return and the more likely you are to cultivate additional back-links.
Be a one-off – Try to offer unique information or opinion that can’t be found anywhere else. Originality can win respect and will get you noticed and recommended.
‘Own’ traffic - Invest a significant amount resources writing a range of content that’s truly exceptional in quality. Aim for your content to become "industry leading", repeatedly referenced to as the "source" for other’s articles. Great web copy can ‘own’ web traffic.
We’ve all got a great story. It’s just waiting to be written.
