Youtube has announced its new Analytics tool to replace Youtube Insights. The new tool is set to enable users to learn more about their audience.

Account holders will now be able to gain more insight into who views their videos, where they view it, and for how long. Here is a list of the new features “vloggers” and users will be able to take advantage of:

  • Quick Overview: Similar to Google analytics, this dashboard enables users to see the most important information about each video.

  • In-Depth Reporting: The analytics tool provides more detail and statistics about how and when the video is viewed/ shared. Channel owners will gain more of an understanding of how their content is found and who watches it.

  • Audience Builder: Users will be able to see which videos are leading to viewers becoming subscribers and getting the most views.

  • Audience Retention: This will enable a user to see how much (on average) their video is being viewed before it is closed.

This information should be able to give video posters vital insight on how well their videos are performing. You will then be able to understand what your audience enjoys and appreciates. All in all, this should lead to videos being optimized and ultimately better made.

Have a look at the following infographic for what you should be expecting to see.

New Youtube Analytics

Youtube is THE online video sharing sight. It is reported to have over 490 million unique users every month, many of which with their own channels. It is generally accepted that around 48 hours of video footage is uploaded to Youtube every minute.

From its founding in 2005, Youtube has grown to become the world’s second largest search engine. In 2006 it was acquired by Google, and is the web-giants second most visited site, only to their own search engine.
