Search Engine Optimisation News

Search engine giant Google has always prided itself on its openness. The stance has served SEO agency well in the past, making search engine marketing strategies that bit easier to implement and monitor.

Keyword analysis tools, traffic monitoring technology and regular blog posts on the latest under-the-hood developments have all helped to create a solid search engine optimisation community. In part this has ensured Google's success, but it has also opened the search engine marketing playing field to businesses of practically any size - regardless of whether their website is their primary source of income or not.

And it looks like Google is set to offer small businesses yet to make the most of search engine optimisation a chance to learn even more about the so-called dark art. The search firm has started a blog targeted directly at small and medium-sized enterprises that will cover most major digital marketing issues - such as website optimisation - in detail.

The small business perspective will undoubtedly highlight the financial gains - and savings - to be made from implementing an effective search engine marketing strategy. In fact Google is already happy with the response it has had from the business community.

"We've received fantastic feedback about these posts, and realized that there's a healthy appetite among small- and medium-sized business owners who want to know all about the latest web tools and tricks. Fortunately, we have lots more to share with you, too," the company said.

Which is why the company is making its Small Business Blog a permanent fixture. As with all of Google's web services - or at least its dedicated search offerings - the new blog collates information from a huge number of sources to create a one-stop-shop for small business hints and tips

"Rather than having to sleuth around in many different locations... you can find all of this helpful information right here in one place," the company added.

But will Google's Small Business Blog be enough? The University of Salford has already launched a dedicated search engine optimisation course - highlighting the complexity of the marketing strategy. So if Google's new blog doesn't make all that much sense, it could be time to contact a professional SEO agency.
