Search Engine Optimisation News
Swift internet access is becoming a universal demand and the way people access data is getting ever more mobile. As a result of the proliferation of smartphones, search engine optimisation now stands alongside other advertising tools as an accepted marketing solution.
With handheld devices getting more and more sophisticated - allowing users to access fully functioning, feature-packed websites - it is unsurprising that search engine optimisation is being adopted wholesale from the world of non-mobile web marketing. The principles are the same and the excellent integration of web 2.0 technologies into mobile handset operating systems make the website optimisation of mobile SEO almost limitless.
Equally unsurprising is the announcement by Google chief executive officer Eric Schmidt that the company will be putting most of its eggs in the smartphone basket. He claims the technology will become an increasingly important part of Google's - and the SEO agency world's - future.
The development of mobile operating system Android is what Schmidt's comments refer to. He claimed that with 50,000+ apps already in circulation, most of which have been created by third party developers, the smartphone is going to be the internet-based technology of choice for the vast majority of people.
And with that in mind, it might be a good time for every SEO Company in the country to look closely at the benefits of including mobile website optimisation in their search engine marketing strategies. For a start, the encroachment of smartphone technology is not going to let up and more to the point, it seems to be what web users want.
Earlier this year, search engine optimisation industry expert and founder of Rank-Mobile Cindy Krum claimed that effective mobile rendering of company websites was becoming ever more important.
Writing for Search Engine Land, Krum claimed that Google and other search engine algorithms were placing increasing importance on how quickly websites could be displayed on mobile phone handsets.
"Sloppy HTML or bad JavaScript can really cause problems on some mobile browsers and can also impact download and rendering time of pages," she wrote.
