Search Engine Optimisation News

It is clear in the SEO agency marketplace that competition is hotting up. Search engine marketing is something that every business with an online presence is slowly starting to accept. Thousands of companies are vying for first page results and, as a result, search engine optimisation spend is on the increase.

But pumping cash into your search marketing and website optimisation campaigns isn't the be all and end all. While spending heavily on search engine marketing has its benefits, modern SEO strategies have to be cleverly thought out and engaging. Any SEO Company worth their salt will ensure their clients understand the importance of consistency - and the fact that a long-term view of search engine marketing is vital.

As search marketing continues to develop as a medium, campaigns become more involved. Many companies - particularly those who consult with an SEO agency - realise that tailoring search marketing is vital. What's more, the discipline now involves much more than front-loading webpage title tags with keywords. Blogs, social media, news feeds, search engine optimised press releases and video content are all par for the course.

However, Google has decided to address the issue of growing complexity in the search engine marketing world. The firm recently announced that it was launching a programme allowing school teachers in Oregon to offer search engine marketing education - in particular, how to use Google Apps and other online tools offered by the firm.

The Google Apps for Education programme has now been expanded and the tutorials will be available to more than 3,000 schools in two US states.

Commenting on the inclusion of Google Apps in the curriculum, Colorado governor Bill Ritter said: "I'm pleased to see the Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) continue its tradition of bringing innovative tools to members of the Colorado public.

"By leveraging the internet, educators are able to bring new ways of learning to the classroom and connect with students in exciting and challenging ways."

If the programme is successful, it might not be long before using Google is incorporated into the UK curriculum, creating an entire generation of search engine optimisation experts.
