Search Engine Optimisation News

It looks like the search engine optimisation market could be set for a major shake-up as the major players fight it out for mobile supremacy.

Practically every search marketing company will be waiting with bated breath to see how the latest raft of major deals between the leading search engines and mobile specialists pans out. Apple has long been touting its credentials as the leader of change in the field of mobile communications, but it looks like the major search engine specialists are getting in on the act - and the results could herald significant core changes to the way search engine marketing campaigns are developed and run.

Just this week Yahoo signed a significant deal with mobile phone developer Nokia that will see the former provide the latter with search engine marketing, email, mapping, chat and navigation software. The move could see Yahoo's reputation as a target for website marketing and pay per click advertising climb among SEO companies.

The move will pit Yahoo against Apple and could increase its market share of search if the company plays its cards right. But, as ever, Yahoo is not the only firm getting in on the mobile communications act.

Google has already received Federal Trade Commission approval to buy AdMob, a multi-million pound mobile marketing firm. The decision by the US's FTC will no doubt anger Apple, which was refused approval for the purchase over fears the deal would create a monopoly.

The Google-AdMob deal will see the pair working on a number of new marketing products for mobile and these could not only change search engine optimisation, but the way people use the internet.

So, with the battle lines drawn and a large number of search engine and mobile phone companies in the fray already, it looks like the world of search engine marketing could be about to be turned on its head. With that in mind, it could be a good move to consider outsourcing your search engine optimisation strategy to a reputable SEO company, which will be able to deal with any impending changes to the marketplace.
