Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the best-value online marketing strategy available to businesses, it has been claimed.

According to Newswire, getting SEO tactics right can mean the difference between creating new business leads or languishing at the bottom of a search engine results page.

The industry expert claims that since 85 per cent of all internet commerce is conducted by companies listed on the first page of Google or Yahoo search returns, making it into the top ten for your preferred keywords is essential.

According to Newswire, the only way to be guaranteed a high search engine ranking is to either "hire a professional team to write well-crafted SEO documents or invest in advertising promotions like Google Adsense".

"The main difference between the two approaches is that SEO (search engine optimisation) generation is a skill that takes time to develop and implement, but offers a great return on investment," the firm claimed.

It added that using Google Adsense on its own can be an expensive way to maintain a high Google ranking.

"Considering how often their data collection methods change, participating in the Google Adsense program requires a high learning curve for the end user," the company added.

Recently, Stuck On claimed that SEO can often take time to make a noticeable impact and the effect of a campaign can be helped - or hindered - by industry competitiveness, a company's marketing budget and previous SEO efforts.

"An established website will always have the advantage over a new one, so you need to keep that in mind," the firm noted.

Meanwhile, SEO analyst Tad Chef claimed that both active and passive search engine optimisation provides a good basis for digital marketing campaigns.

The marketing specialist claimed that every single webpage does not need to have dynamically updated content, so long as there is some on a firm's website.

"In order to achieve the best possible results with the least time spent, you have to merge old school and new school SEO techniques," he claimed.
