Virgin Trains is overhauling its website to include new features such as interactive route maps and custom timetables.
The firm hopes the makeover will help to convey the brand's new positioning of train travel as superior to other modes of transport, according to Marketing Magazine.
Launched on November 11th, the website aims to position Virgin Trains as a facilitator of 'personal journeys' and promote its new Virgin High Frequency service.
In addition to an interactive route map linked to station information, a tool that generates custom timetables and a news blog section, the new website will also encompass over 100 new images championing the brand experience.
Website functionality has also been improved to work in conjunction with National Rail Enquiries, the Trainline and Eurostar - therefore increasing the number of travellers Virgin has the potential to reach.
The travel company also recently announced high speed wireless internet for passengers on all Virgin trains between London Euston, Chester and north Wales.
