Small firms that use email marketing are more confident about their future, according to new research.
The Campaigner 2009 State of Small Business Marketing Survey revealed 82 per cent of small firms that use or plan to use email marketing expect their revenue to grow over the coming months.
In contrast, just 18 per cent of small enterprises that do not use email marketing expect to improve their standing in their sector.
Steve Adams, vice president of marketing for Campaigner provider Protus, said the study highlighted that email is one of the best ways for companies to both attract and retain customers while enjoying growth.
He added: "The survey also showed the growing importance of email marketing and other web-based tools in driving business growth."
Separate research published by Harris International and Pontiflex found that 96 per cent of respondents would be willing to respond to an email marketing campaign.
