Varying keywords 'provide SEO boost'
October 29th 2009
Each website page should focus on at least two key phrases in order to help boost rankings, according to an industry expert.
In a post on search engine optimisation (SEO) Chat, Ivan Strouchliak underlined the importance of varying the keywords firms focus on when compiling a single page of content.
In terms of search engine optimisation (SEO), links, rankings, pages and algorithms are all about numbers, he suggested.
However, he warned businesses to be wary of the Google Sandbox, which is the proverbial place where websites that do not rank are said to be stuck in.
He explained that it is quite well-known that some businesses will find it difficult to get out of the sandbox when they first launch their site, because Google does not trust it yet.
However, Mr Strouchliak noted that some websites can be put back into the sandbox, because they have violated this trust by employing shady tactics to improve SEO rankings, such as the overuse of keywords, known as keyword stuffing.
But good search engine optimisation (SEO) is not always an easy thing to achieve, claimed P J Fusco in a recent article for Clickz.
She asserted that many businesses do not execute their SEO very well.
