Google is attempting to seize an even greater share
of the search engine marketing sector with a new UK
advertising push.
The search engine giant is launching a new online
advertising campaign today, Gone Google, referring
to the 1.7 million businesses that currently make
use of its services.
Commenting on the launch of the new campaign, head
of marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa at
Google Enterprise Dave Armstrong told the Guardian:
"It is the first and very highly visible integrated
ad campaign that we have run.
"Gone Google is a concept that we are at a tipping
point where you [businesses] need to move to a new
model.
"Look at how Google has brought products to the
enterprise market, we have done it differently than
some of the other competitors."
Google currently dominates the internet search
market share in the UK, although its dominance is
slightly less in the US, where Yahoo and Microsoft's
bing enjoy more success, according to Hitwise
figures.
